I took some time today to refresh and better my skills in Adobe Illustrator. I came up with this quick sketch and have been working on this slowly for the day. This is the progress I've made so far, but there's more to do. I'm slow in Illustrator as a program, but I plan to increase my speed with small projects like this moving forward.
I guess it's a no brainer that I should probably add flames to the Phoenix to bring out its nature more. I've completed much of the detail work I thought to do with the color of its feathers. Comments and critiques are welcome.
For reasons involving the commission, I needed to change the pose of the painting. I decided to further my changes by adding more definition to the feathers which also led me to slightly change the color scheme so that I could create the details I want later. This is a base layout of the colors. I'll begin detail work tomorrow and hopefully have this finished before the week is over.
